Free Talk in Maynard Monday, May 4th: Sensory Strategies - Practical and Effective Strategies to Use at Home and in the Classroom

From the Maynard SEPAC

April 20, 2015

Sensory processing challenges occur when an individual has difficulty organizing an effective and appropriate response to sensory input. The resulting dysregulation can be challenging when performing countless everyday tasks, including maintaining self-regulation, maneuvering through the environment and responding appropriately.

Visibly, this could result in an appearance of clumsiness or weakness, behavioral problems, and difficulties at school and within groups.

Karen Ditto, OTR/L will speak to parents and educators about practical and effective strategies to use at home and in the classroom. Ms. Ditto has been an Occupational Therapist at the Green Meadow Elementary School in Maynard for eight years. She will present a number of strategies and resources parents and educators can use to help kids become better regulated and more productive.

When:   7:00pm Monday, May 4, 2015

Where: Fowler Library
                  3 Tiger Drive, Maynard, MA

This workshop is free and open to the public. RSVP by email to sepacchair@maynard.k12.ma.us or call 978-897-2705.
