Great AANE Webinar with Karen Waddill - Appy Hour: Apps for Learning and Organization

Appy Hour is a fast-paced sharing of iOS (Apple) apps. This session provides an overview of app options within targeted categories, but is not a substitute for in-depth training on specific apps. A brief overview of assistive technology assessment and evaluating apps will also be covered.

Targeted areas will be:
  • executive function; social cognition/ pragmatics; 
  • self-regulation; and, 
  • written communication.

Other category options: augmentative and alternative communication; motor skills; Arts education; learning to read; reading to learn; STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics); recreational/leisure; life skills; and teacher tools.

Director of Cotting Consulting

Karen Waddill is is the Director of Cotting Consulting at Cotting School, in Lexington, MA. Cotting Consulting provides technology-based assessment, intervention, and training to educational programs in the Greater Boston area. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, holds licenses with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and Division of Professional Licensure, and is certified as an Assistive Technology Professional through the Rehabilitative Engineering Society of North America.

In her current role, Karen balances her time between the administrative oversight of the program, maintaining a clinical caseload, and speaking engagements. In addition to her work at Cotting, Karen is a long-standing visiting instructor in the Graduate and Continuing Education Department at Fitchburg State University.

Cost:    $40 per registered email

A recording of this presentation will be made available to paid registrants within 48 hours of the live session for those who need to review the material or were not able to attend the live event

Webinar Registration

Advance registration with payment is required for all webinars 24 hours before the webinar start time. AANE reserves the right to cancel a webinar if the minimum enrollment is not met by the registration deadline. If AANE cancels a webinar due to weather or a public emergency, and the webinar will not be rescheduled, registrants may sign up for an alternate date if available. You will receive a refund if you are unable to make up a webinar canceled by AANE.

Fees: Webinar fees must be paid at the time of registration; reservations cannot be made without total payment. No prorated/reduced fees if you cannot attend a full webinar. If you register for a webinar and are a no-show, there are no refunds or credits given to attend another webinar. We will make every attempt to forward you materials and a link to a recording, if available.

To access this training: You need a desktop or laptop computer with Internet access using a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Safari. Tablets and smartphones can be used, but you may need to download an app prior to the event. Speakers or headphones that are connected or integrated into your device or a telephone can be used. Participants can also access this training without a computer by using a telephone, which will give you access to the AUDIO ONLY. 

Be prepared to log in 15 minutes before the scheduled time!

Registration for this class is ONLINE ONLY. Once you have completed the registration process, a confirmation email will be sent with instructions on how to access your class.
